Dubai. 7am, 1hr early and its 36'C + + +

We have landed! The flight from New York to Dubai was amazing. We slept most of the way and the service was so much better than I have ever experienced. It was refreshing to see an airline with such professionalism and people that seemed to take pride in what they were doing. We arrived in Terminal 3 (Emirates own terminal) which has only been up for 7months. They built the terminal because they were finding that it was too busy in the other terminals and they weren't giving the service that they wanted to their guests (says Edwin-our driver that picked us up at the airport) and it seemed like we have arrived to a space station and it was extremely quiet. We were in a different place from where we come from, thats for sure! I think thats what I love most about traveling, the unfamiliarity of what is going around you. People from all over the world traveling through a city that has it's own agenda-one much different from the one that we came from. Edwin from the Capital Club was waiting for us at the airport holding a sign with our name on it... we left the airport into heat. So.. let me remind you... it's 7am-32'C and now its 8:05am and it has already risen to 38'c and that doesn't include the humidity! Wow... I haven't felt this kind of heat since the Panama Canal! Wendy and I were laughing so hard because she couldn't see because her sunglasses were all fogged up which reminded me of what kind of trouble shooting this might mean for my camera!

So, off the Capital Club... and well thank you Gina and Andrew for taking care of us. Andrew has set us up in the African' themed room and it is the most stunning hotel room I have seen since the Sutton Place Penthouse Suite in Vancouver on my way home from Australia in 2006. Well, you'll see by the pictures that Wendy and I are well taken care of - 5stars equipped with a rainforest shower that we are determined to figure out how it works! LOL... ask Wendy, she got attacked by the shower head!

So, off to shower - Wendy says no sleeping because we have to get right into the time zone switch. We are going to go grab some lunch by the Burj Al Arab and then go the antique souks (markets) for the afternoon.
