Jambo Kenya!

So, today we flew from Dubai to Nairobi, Kenya!!!!! It was nice to leave that +44'c behind us... boy was that hot! We arrived to the airport on time and checked in. When we were just about to board the flight Wendy noticed that our tickets have been changed! BUSINESS in big capital letters on the top right side.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So... we went down the first class/business ramp and they welcomed us with big smiles. There was no mistake... some how we had been upgraded to a business class seat which was hard to believe because the flight was completely full. I always use to wonder about what the big deal about business class was... I mean who really wants to pay double for the same flight. Well, Wendy and I are here to tell you that its not the same flight... its much more than economy. There was enough room for a playpen to sit infront of us and you seat has the ability to lounge right back- even more than a lazy boy! Complete luxury people. We were greeted with orange juice, champagne and a full brunch menu with a nice glass of Chablis. Ok, so we had 2 glasses. The flight was only 4 1/2hrs so its was quick and easy. Traveling in business or first class makes flying desirable.

Fresh orange juice? Champagne? Welcome to Business Class//

We arrived in Kenya early and the airport was busy with tourists and locals. The weather was cooler than Dubai which was a nice change and the airport was smaller than I imagined. All I could think was... I'm here. And I am... take a look at the drive from the airport to the hotel.

the traffic is so bad in nairobi its bumper to bumper as you get closer into town. I had to be careful with my camera as people come right up to the window and try to sell you things. They actual come right into the car if you window is even cracked open only a little bit. I have never seen anything like it. Welcome to Nairobi, Kenya... shopping on the streets. People were selling anything to sports balls, newspapers, mops and fresh fruit and many hand made crafts.

Speaking of which, its time to turn in. I'm exhausted and need to rest up for the big traveling day tomorrow. Teeku is picking us up at 6:30am to head into the Masai Mara... he is Sachen's long time friend and also a wildlife photographer. He has grown up in the Masai Mara and he will be taking Wendy and I on all of our safari's so we are over the moon to have such an amazing guide. We won't have any access to internet or phone service when we go away so you will hear from us when we return on the weekend in between safari's. It's just Teeku, Wendy and I and our 4x4 heading out to the Masai Mara to relax and take in Africa... It feels so good to say that.

Hakuna Matata.
